Memorial Planned for Randy Brown

James Randolph Brown, known as Randy, 66, of Sapulpa, passed away on October 15, 2024, at his home.

Randy was born on December 3, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Francis and Angelene Brown. He graduated from Allen High School in 1976, excelling in sports. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1977, Randy married his high school sweetheart, Carla Anderson, and they recently celebrated 47 years of marriage.

In 1980, Randy began working as an aircraft mechanic at Rockwell International in Tulsa, where he held various positions throughout his career. He worked on aircraft models such as the 757, B1B, and 747, and took great pride in his role on the test team for the International Space Station stationed at the Rocky Mountain facility in Denver, Colorado. Later, he became an inspector and laser tracker for the 737, 787, G-280, and G-650. Randy retired from Spirit Aerosystems in 2020 after dedicating 40 years to the aircraft industry.

In his leisure time, Randy enjoyed fishing, photography, gardening, and especially traveling to national parks and the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast. He was a devoted Sooner fan and season ticket holder.

Randy had a caring and compassionate heart, always there for family and friends. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed— particularly by his nieces and nephews, who affectionately referred to him as their favorite uncle.

Randy is survived by his beloved wife Carla; their children Summer and her husband Steven Caudle, and Matthew and Andrew Brown, all from Tulsa. He also leaves behind grandchildren Harper and Skylar Caudle, and Gavin and Grayson Brown, as well as his sister Beverly Ann Newman of Plymouth, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Angelene Brown, along with his brothers Francis Alan and Gary Brown, and sisters Elaine Benda and Patricia Creech.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 2nd, 11:30 a.m., at Keystone Park Community Center. Please wear your Crimson and Cream.
