Service held for Carl Knighten

Carl Burnis Knighten Jr., age 56, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Carl was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 15, 1966 to parents Carl Burnis Knighten, Sr. and Frances Earlene (Wester) Knighten.

Growing up Carl attended Midwest City Schools and was a member of the first Assembly of God church. He also worked at his family’s auto salvage. Carl loved fishing and he loved Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He also loved watching the OU Sooners football games. However, his proudest moment came with the birth of his daughter Carlee.

Carl is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Knighten.

He is survived by his father, Carl Burnis Knighten, Sr.; daughter, Carlee Knighten; sister, Carla Desilets and husband Rick; sister, Lisa Knighten; sister, Sherri Knighten; niece, Tashia Jaramillo; nephew, Ben Desilets; and niece Brittany Desilets.

Carl had many friends and loved to help people as he had a very big heart. He also loved to tell stories, make people laugh, and pull the occasional joke or prank on his friends and family. Carl was very onery and will be loved and missed by many.

A graveside service occurred Friday, March 10th, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Red Oak Cemetery south of Allen.
