Service held for Drucilla June Hammons

Drucilla June Hammons, 72, of Ada, Oklahoma went to the arms of Jesus on May 17, 2024. She was born on March 20, 1952 to her parents Ross and Dorthy Wilsie. June was baptized on September 6, 1959 and was a member of the Romulus Baptist Church.

She married her high school sweetheart, Roy Mack Hammons, on September 24, 1971. They have one daughter, Nicole Davis, who blessed their lives on March 20, 1975. June was blessed on her birthday with a daughter, and they happily shared their birthday from then on.

June was a homemaker while Nicole was growing up. She was a very good seamstress and made a lot of her daughter’s clothes when she was young.

June love to read, most often you would find her sewing or reading. She also enjoyed going to the movie theater. In 1980, she attended Gordon Cooper Vo-tech in Shawnee, Oklahoma and received her LPN license.

June started working full time as an LPN around 1995, and proudly served as a night time LPN for several nursing homes around Shawnee. In 2007 June moved to be closer to her daughter and two granddaughters Kinley and Maddie Davis. She absolutely adored watching them grow up into wonderful young women.

June is survived by her daughter, Nicole Davis and husband Ronnie Davis of Stonewall; her granddaughters, Kinley Davis and Madison Davis; her brother Wesley and his wife Sue Wilsie of Shawnee; and her sister Linda Dobbins of Allen.

June is preceded in death by her parents Ross and Dorothy Wilsey, and her brotherin- law Steve Dobbins.

There was a funeral service held on Tuesday, May 21st, at 10:00AM, the Romulus Baptist Church in Macomb, Oklahoma with interment to following at Romulus Cemetery.
