Service held for Jerry Tollett
Jerry Dwayne Tollett passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Jerry was the son of Noah and Lura (Tipton) Tollett, born on April 20, 1936 in Non, Oklahoma, his home for his entire life with the exception of two years in military service. Jerry graduated Gerty High School in 1954 then served in the U.S. Army during peacetime for two years at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Bliss, New Mexico.
He married Debra Hennington on April 23, 1976 in Non and they were blessed with three children: Michelle, Brandie, and Jerry Jr. They made their home in Non and enjoyed twenty-eight years together until Debra passed away on August 20, 2004. Jerry worked for more than thirty years as Warehouse Foreman at the ammunition depot in McAlester and retired on June 1, 1993.
He was a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge of Calvin. His favorite things were hunting and fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, fiddling with junk, and tinkering with tractors. He loved his family more than anything. He was much loved and will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Tollett, in 2004; his parents, Noah and Lura Tollett; two sisters, Dorothy England and Pamela Tollett; and three brothers: James Tollett, Wendell Tollett, and Travis Tollett.
He is survived by three children, Michelle Tollett of Savanna, Brandie Holder of Non, and Jerry Tollett Jr (Misty) of McAlester; nine grandchildren, Christian Tollett, Garrett Tollett, Peyton Tollett, Dillon Holder, Gunner Holder (Tiffany), Maddox Tollett, Noah Lalli, Corbin Lalli, and Gianna Lalli; two great-grandchildren, Winston Holder and Baylor Holder; one brother, Richard Tollett (Shirley) of McAlester and one sister, Carol Dodson (James) of Colbert, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services were Monday, June 26th, 11:00 a.m., at Fisher Funeral Home-Lillye Chapel, and Jerry was laid to rest at Non Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers were grandchildren Christian Tollett, Dillon Holder, Gunner Holder, Maddox Tollett, Noah Lalli, Corbin Lalli, and Gianna Lalli. Honorary pallbearers were Winston Holder, Baylor Holder, Bill Tollett, James Tollett, Kent Smith, Tony Smith, and David Tollett.
