Service Monday for Benny Prentice

Services for Benny Perl Prentice, 87, of Allen, Oklahoma, are 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Allen School Auditorium; Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. The family will welcome friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Allen Chapel.

Mr. Prentice passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, surrounded by close family. He was born on February 19, 1937, in Allen to Homer Lee and Allie Mabel Caton Prentice.

Mr. Prentice was a dedicated and independent oil operator for many years, retiring after a successful career in the oil industry. He was a respected member of his community and a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy will live on through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his son, Mark Alan Prentice; daughters, Jerri Starns and husband Frank, Sheila Matthews, Debbie Cundiff and husband Kenny, and Paula Colbert and husband Larry; brother, Eddie Prentice and wife Kay; sisters, Glendene Griffin and Violet Long; ex-wife, Kathryn Walden; grandchildren, Nick Starns and wife Amy, Charlie Prentice, Sheryl Goodson and husband Jack, Kanan Matthews and wife Tasha, John Cundiff and wife Lisa, Jodi Watkins and husband Jason, Adam Colbert, Justin Colbert and wife Randi, and Chad Colbert and wife Taylor; great-grandchildren, Bella and Ethan Starns and numerous other great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kattie Prentice; parents, Homer and Allie Prentice; and brother, Gene Prentice.

Bearers are John Cundiff, Justin Colbert, Chad Colbert, Kanan Matthews, Adam Colbert, Jax Watkins, and Nick Starns. Honorary bearers are Tim Robertson, Robert Hammonds, Danny Mc-Dougal, and Charlie Prentice.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Allen Public School, P.O. Box 430, Allen, OK 74825.
