Service Saturday for Jesse Nickell
Jesse Cole Nickell, 40, of Atwood was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Jesse was born September 27, 1983 to Kenny and Janet (Harrington) Nickell. Jesse graduated from Allen High School in 2002. He married Jenney (Belvin) Nickell on September 28, 2013. Jesse worked for the Union Pacific Railroad until 2015.
Jesse loved spending time with his kids and family. He loved to hunt and had plenty of trophies to show for it. He also loved to fish and pretty much anything else outdoors.
Jesse had a heart of gold. Anyone who met him, surely loved him. His smile could light up a room and his hugs would brighten up anyone’s day. Jesse had an unshakable faith in the Lord and always trusted in His plan. He was a true inspiration for so many people. He was strong and courageous and most of all loved his family and the Lord with all his heart.
There was a visitation held for Jesse at the Allen Church of Christ in Allen, Oklahoma on Wednesday, February 21st, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral services celebrating the life of Jesse will be on Saturday, February 24th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Allen High School Gymnasium with burial to follow at Atwood Cemetery in Atwood, Oklahoma.
Jesse is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Shirley (Dodson) Foster.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Jenney Nickell of the home; one daughter, Aniston Weeks, of Ada, and three sons, Cayser Nickell and Slate Nickell of the home, and River Nickell of Seminole; his parents, Kenny and Janet Nickell, Atwood; maternal grandparents, Glenn and JoEtta Harrington, Atwood; Paternal grandparents, Don Nickell and wife Fronia of Humble, Texas; brother and sister-inlaw, Hunter and Jena Nickell of Ada; brotherin- law and sisters-inlaw Derek and Jessie Newell, Shawnee, and Wendy Clark, Durant; mother-in-law, Linda Belvin, Sallisaw; and nieces and nephews, Titus and Avi Nickell, Baylor and Caryse Newell, and Emerson Newell. Jesse had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Cody Fredrick, Adam Burris, Randy Heck, Travis Hinkle, Justin Colbert. Honorary pallbearers are Wes Hutchison, Glen Royalty and Toby Thomas.
Officiating the service will be, Kevin Wright, Josh Moyer, and Dustin Rocha.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson for giving Jesse exceptional care over the past twelve years. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Jordyn Parker for stepping in on Sunday and taking such good care of Jesse.
