Service Saturday for Sam Harrison

Memorial services for Charles L. (Sam) Harrison, age 83, of Francis are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Francis.
Sam passed away peacefully at his home on February 11, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1941, in Ada, Oklahoma, to James and Florita Davis Harrison.
A proud veteran, Sam served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was a dedicated and disciplined member of the military, receiving an associate’s degree from Georgia Military Academy. Sam had a strong sense of duty, which he carried throughout his career and life.
Sam married Wanda Pinkepank on March 27, 1980, in Knob Noster, MO. Wanda preceded him in death in July 1997. Together, they built a life filled with love and memories.
Sam was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ariene R. Harrison; his parents, James and Florita; brother, James Carlos, and sister, Clara Stuart.
He is survived by his son, Charles L. (Chuck) Harrison, Jr., and daughter, Donna J. Rodriguez. Sam cherished his grandchildren, Kayla A. Smith, Mayra Mireya Rodriguez and her partner Aaron Berenson, Stephen C. Harrison and his wife Karen, Andres Favian Rodriguez, Jorge Luis Rodriguez and his wife Elena Jimenez, and Brittany N. Harrison. His great-grandchildren, Christopher Harrison, Camila Harrison, Luca, Reighn, Leon, Charlotte Grae Rodriguez, Santiago Andres Rodriguez, and Arlo Favian Berenson, brought him great joy. Sam is also survived by his brother, Davis Ray Harrison and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sam will be remembered fondly for his love of family, dedication to his country, and love of adventure. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
