Services Held for Lorie Chaffin
Our dear mother, Lorie Ann Chaffin, sadly passed away on July 13, 2022 surounded by her loved ones at the age of 60. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Momo who always had a smile and a kind word for any one she met.
Lorie was born August 17, 1961 to Doil and Wilma Meeks of Atwood. She attended the Allen Public Schools and later attended East Central University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked for the Holdenville Public Schools as a substitute teacher and held a special place in the hearts of a lot of students.
She married David Chaffin, the love of her life, partner in crime, and travel partner on November 19, 1978. They had two daughters and later six grandchildren: one granddaughter and five grandsons. Lorie loved her family and was a constant attendee to any family event. Lorie loved to travel, go thrift store shopping with her daughters, and work on their house beside her husband. She loved her grandkids and had many years to enjoy the time being their Momo, a name she received by her oldest grandchild.
She was a strong Christian woman and attended the East Main Church of Christ. She always looked forward to attending services and having fellowship with her church family. She was easy to talk to and could give some good advice to whoever needed it. She loved to hear her daughters sing especially at church. Even when her words left her, the gift of song was still there.
Lorie was proceeded in death by her par ents, Doil and Wilma Meeks, and in-laws, Troy and Esta Chaffin.
She is survived by her husband, David of the home; daughters Kayle Chaffin and Erin Chaffin, both of Holdenville; granddaughter Ashton Chitwood, and grandsons Ty and Kyle Earnest, Mason Chitwood, and David and Brayden Deere; her siblings Denise Grant and husband Kevin, Rae Jean Robinson, and Richard Meeks and wife Misty; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
