Services held for Mary Guinn
Mary Ida Guinn, 85, passed away February 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Talihina, OK on February 10, 1939, to William “Bill” Clarence and Geraldine Anita Lovin.
She is survived by her husband George Guinn of 20 years; daughter Anita Cowan and husband Lee; daughter Bonnie McAnally and husband Tim; son Gary Thomas and wife Carolyn; two bonus daughters, Etta Stovall and Roxine Littlefield; her nine beautiful grandchildren, Stephanie, Tricia, Natalee, Amanda, Kimberly, Joshua, Maranda “Kara,” Jordan, and Destiny; ten bonus grandchildren, John, Josh, Kimberly, Georgina, Jeremy, Pete, Camey, Chris, Trisha, and Dawnetta; a multitude of greatgrandchildren; her brothers Bill Lovin, Ted Lovin, and Tim Lovin; and sisters Helen Louise Waller and Jerry Dean Lovin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Glen Lovin (2009), Melvin Lovin (2021, and sisters Jo Ann McCarty (2013), Wilma Jane Borthik (2006), Norma June Moberly (2011), Virginia Lorene Stephens (2018), and Carolyn Sue Birth (2021).
To our beautiful loving mother, you were the BEST MOM EVER! You will forever be missed and will always be in our hearts.
Mary loved attending church every Sunday and would often treat herself to a catfish dinner or hamburger basket and Pepsi-Cola on the way home. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking, and being with her family.
To the grandkids, she was known as “MoMo” and “Granny”, and her brothers and sisters called her “Mert.” She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff in ICU at Mercy Hospital in Ada for her care over last the few weeks.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 21st, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Ada at 2:00PM, with interment following at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
Pallbearers were Jacob Hannah, EP Christopher, Randy Lewis, Cole Harwood, Daniel Lovin, John Littlefield, Josh Littlefield, and Clayton Canada. Honorary Pallbearers were Joshua Porter, and Connor Lewis.
