Taffi Russell Bunyard Passes Away

Taffi Dianne (Russell) Bunyard of Ada passed away in Norman on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was born December 19, 1960 at Holdenville Regional Hospital to Willie and Ruby Russell. She married Stephen Bunyard February 6, 1982 in Allen, OK. She was of Baptist faith.

Taffi was a 1979 Allen High School graduate and received her teaching degree from East Central University and later followed up with obtaining her Master’s Degree. She substitute/taught at area schools before she went on to teach at New Lima before retiring December of 2019.

Survivors include husband Steve Bunyard of the home; children Alan Bunyard and wife Monica of Norman, Meghan Bunyard of OKC, Jeremy Bunyard of Norman; and three grandchildren, (whom she adored) Dexter, Ruby and Caden Bunyard of Norman; one sister Terry Riddle and husband Glen of Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law; and brothers and sisters Jack Bunyard, Willie Mae Farmer, Charles Brand, Jess Brand and Rick Brand.

Taffi loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She and Steve enjoyed camping as their pastime and going on group camping trips with family.

She later developed a passion for PLANTS and we mean plants. You could walk into her kitchen and be surrounded by a jungle of house plants. They gave her so much joy by watering, replanting and taking care of them all.

There will not be services at this time, but the family wants to gather at a later date to remember the beautiful, amazing and caring woman she was.
