Service Friday for Jeffrie Day
Jeffrie was the son of Roy Wendell Day & Connie (Dockery) Day, born on July 13, 1968, in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He was brought up in Holdenville by his mother and stepfather, Richard ‘Dickie’ Day. He joined the National Guard at age 18. He married Loretta Dotson on May 4, 2004, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He lived his adult life in Holdenville and Calvin, and worked for many years as an over the road truck driver. He was working as a farm hand for Sam McClure when his health failed.
Jeffrie enjoyed life. Some of his favorite things were riding 4-wheelers and playing horseshoes. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. He loved people, and would do anything he could to help anybody. More than anything, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Wendell Day; grandparents Tommy & Maggie Maroon, Gail & Mildred Dockery, Wanda Day, and Bill Day; his nephew, Dakota Grant Weaver.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home; seven children: Brenna Day of Oklahoma City, Tommy Day of Ada, Amy McMahan of Calvin, Billy McMahan of Ada, Megan McMahan of Wetumka, Jeffery Dodd of Ada, and Clay Dodd of Holdenville; fourteen grandchildren; three sisters: Tonja Weaver (Billy) of Holdenville, Maggie Day Stroud (Brad) of Spiro, and Cassie Day of Fort Smith AR; one brother, Brandon Day (Casey) of Ft. Smith AR; nieces and nephews: Dallas Weaver, Macy Smith, Madison Smith, Kennedy Bishop, Nylah Day, Ty Day, Christina Day, Crystal Freeman, and James Shivers; other family members, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Calvin Cemetery Chapel, with Bill Blaylock offi ciating.
Viewing at the funeral home will be Thursday, April 11, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
