George Price Passes Away
Was born November 1st , 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Eloise Irene James and Milo Ridenhour, both of Oklahoma City. He joined family and friends in Heaven on September 8, 2018 after a long extensive battle against 11 types of cancer. He was 77 years old.
He is survived by his wife Pamala of the home; daughter Paula and husband JB Nelson of Allen, Oklahoma; son Fred and wife Lynette Price of Haileyville, Oklahoma; granddaughter Heather Nelson of Oklahoma City; grandson Steven Nelson of Allen, Oklahoma; step-grandson Ben and wife Payton Collums of McAlester, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Ron and wife Amy Jones of Muskogee, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Martha and husband Stephen Depew of Gerty, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Joann Strickland of Dallas, Texas. In addition he leaves a host of Masonic brothers, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eloise Irene Price and stepfather Fred Price, both of Allen, Oklahoma; father Milo Ridenhour of Oklahoma City; sister Freda Jones of Ada, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents Sarah Jane Kiser and Thomas A.W. James of McLoud, Oklahoma; paternal grandparents Lola White and David Price of Haileyville, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Paul Strickland of Dallas, Texas; a son George Price Jr, at birth in Odessa, Texas; and a daughter-in-love, Renda Lewis, and granddaughter-in-love, Shelby Lewis, both of Allen, Oklahoma.
George was a Retired Senior Chief from the US Navy. He also served in the USAF, accumulating 22 years of service. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a proud member of the Masonic Blue Lodge #81 of Allen, Oklahoma. George enjoyed longarm quilting and to his ladies he was the Quilt Doctor. They came to him daily to make a top shine, and they will miss his dry humor. He also served as the Allen Volunteer Fire Department Dispatcher for many years, where he took care of his boys and girls on scene or at the station.
While in the military he served from Hawaii to Iceland and many places in-between. Wherever he was stationed he also served the Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs as a Mentor and Trainer of Leaders, Leader in troops and associations. He loved collecting rocks and stamps from around the world. One dream not realized due to ill health was to pan for gold in Alaska.
George was community service orientated and his last request was to help cancer research and he will through tissue/organ donation. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be scheduled and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, an account has been established at Farmers State Bank, Allen, OK to help with medical/travel expenses.
