They had four children, Shelia Champ of Allen, Peachie (Leslie) and Mike Cross of Allen, Rhonda and Bill Spray of Atwood, and Willis and Jami Rinehart of Allen. They have 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lois Joel Rinehart, his mother, Zu Ella Rinehart, brother, Herman Dean Rinehart, granddaughter, Sindi Lucille Spray, one unborn grandchild and two unborn great-grandchildren.
Heavy was a funloving man with a heart of gold. If you met him, you knew him. He would help anyone at any time. He loved company and if you ever came to his house and supper was ready, you would eat. His smile and sense of humor was contagious. His family values were strong, almost as strong as he was. He will be missed by all of us.
He retired from the Pontotoc County Barn after 20-plus years, he loved working there with all the guys and the heavy equipment.
If you wanted to make a trade, he was your man . . . he may trade that off again before he got home with it because he did love to trade. Momma always told us that if we “woke up in a strange house, don’t worry, your daddy traded you off in the middle of the night!”
You’d never met another man that had as much happiness in his heart to be so feared by people that just knew the size of him. He was a giant of a man in stature and of heart, was a gentle soul and so kind hearted. If other men were half the man our daddy was, we would have a lot of great men in this world. We never had a lot of money but we never went without. We weren’t the popular kids with the high fashion clothes or shoes but we didn’t go to school in rags, they may have been second hand or from the bargain bin, but he had a lot of mouths to feed and most of the time, extras were there. He never complained of the hard work that he did or that he didn’t have the fancy things in life, he just wanted his kids to be happy and healthy and he certainly loved his entire family.
We love you Daddy. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 21 st , at the Allen School Auditorium in Allen, Oklahoma. Interment followed at the Allen Cemetery.
