Service held for Esther Edwards
Esther Sue Edwards passed away Monday, May 16, 2021 at her home in Calvin, Oklahoma at the age 84.
Esther Sue Edwards was born November 30, 1936 in Wetumka, OK to Walter and Esther Smith.
Sue had read 10,000 books before entering high school. She graduated as Valedictorian of her Class of 1955 from Wetumka High School. Sue and Coy were marred October 29, 1963. She was a homemaker.
Sue worked for Oral Roberts in her early adult years. She also worked in the offices on pipeline jobs. Coy was on one of the jobs that she found very challenging working for NC Fabick, which was a major supplier of heavy equipment for the Alaska Pipeline Project, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Sue also had the challenge of managing the family farm with Jerry and Steve while Coy was away on pipeline jobs.
Sue had a passion for life, she enjoyed many things: singing, reading, sewing, cooking, writing poems/letters to her lifelong friends and family, above all spending time with her husband Coy and family. Sue loved to travel, one of her most memorable trips was to Italy with Coy, her niece Carolyn and husband. She experienced many beautiful places through the years.
Sue was active member of First Baptist Church in Calvin. She loved the Lord and her church family. Sue was proud of many things, but to ask her what she was most proud of was her sons, being a mother and Momma Sue was her greatest accomplishment. She loved spending time with friends and family, whether it was sitting holding Steve’s hand talking about cows or on the back porch watching the hummingbirds, to asking Dusty what was for dinner. She had a sassy side and if she didn’t like something she had no problem letting you know.
