Service held for Lillian Wilson
Lillian Mae Wilson passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Medical Park West in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87. Lillian was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many in the community of Holdenville where she resided for over 60 years.
Lillian was born on March 8, 1934 in Pontiac, Illinois. She was the daughter of Sam and Ruth (Thayer) Lamkin. After graduating high school, she moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma where she later met the love of her life, Wayne Edward Wilson.
Lillian and Wayne married in 1974 and celebrated forty-six beautiful years together in Holdenville. Lillian enjoyed a long business career in Holdenville. Her longest career was with Jack W. Booth Insurance where she worked for 32 years. After retiring, she missed her career and returned to work at Edward Jones. She went on to serve as secretary for Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church for many years before retiring again at age 86 in October 2020.
She is survived by her sons Lee Shipley of Edmond, Larry Shipley of Edmond, Mike Wilson and wife Della of Pauls Valley, and Dr. Mark Wilson and wife Karen of Pauls Valley. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jayme Wilson of Oklahoma City, Lauren Patton and husband Jess of Pauls Valley, Taylor Shipley of Dallas, Lukas Wilson, and wife Taylor of Pauls Valley, Laydin Wilson and fiance Ryan Fraley of Pauls Valley, Marcus Wolf and husband John McQuillen of New York City, Jenni Wolf of Moore, Clint and wife Leesa Peters of Calvin, and Kayla Peters of Calvin; her great grandchildren Ava, Jack, and Libby Patton and Symeon Wilson all of Pauls Valley, and Jonas, Raylon and Grayson Peters all of Calvin. She leaves one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doyle and Mary Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 22 nd , with Pastor Robert Foos officiating. Interment followed at Holdenville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Shipley, Larry Shipley, Dr. Mark Wilson, Mike Wilson, Bryan Wilson, and Lukas Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Morris, Micah Mitchon, Connor Brannon and Randy Fletcher.
Services were under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
