Freda Harry Passes Away
On October 17, 2021, Freda Mae Ellis Harry went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Robert Harkey, during her last moments on this earth. Freda was one of seven children born to Fred Warren Ellis and Katherine Elizabeth Taby Ellis on October 4, 1947, in a small little house in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She lived with her family in many of the small little communities in Southeast Oklahoma for most of her formative years.
She met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Elmer Harry, in Phoenix, Arizona, and they soon married in the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 28, 1972. Together they maintained a blended family which included his three children and her daughter with another daughter on the way to finish out the family dynamic in Huntington Beach, California.
In June of 1983, Freda and Chuck made the move to Allen, Oklahoma, with their two youngest daughters to be closer to her mother and family. She was a writer/reporter/copy setter for Allen Advocate, a pharmacy tech/retail cashier for Bullard’s Drug and TDJ’s Pharmacy, an owner of Open Doors Ceramics, and an assistant for Allen Vet Clinic. She also worked for Carl Albert Indian Hospital as a pharmacy tech and Ada Gaming Center as a facility accountant until her retirement. She was a member of Allen First Baptist Church. She was highly creative, very imaginative, and could always tell a good story. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Chuck Harry; her parents, Fred and Katherine Ellis; her granddaughter, Morgan Taylor Frantz; her oldest brother, Don Ellis; and a younger sister, Barbara Jean Ellis. With that group, she is surely rejoicing in Heaven with her Savior and her family.
She leaves behind a step-son, Ron Harry and wife, Marti, of California; a step-daughter, Debbie Gaulden of Indiana; a step-daughter, Kathy White and husband, John, of California; a daughter, Jackie Harkey and husband, Robert, of Burleson, Texas; and a daughter, Renee Frantz and husband, Dax, of Allen, Oklahoma; a sister, Pat Bullard and husband, Wayne, of Allen, Oklahoma; a sister, Margaret Bailey and husband, Rodney, of Allen, Oklahoma; a sister, Carol “Suzy” Cook, of Ada, Oklahoma; and a brother, Fred Ellis and wife, Theda, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy.
