Service Saturday for Sue Edwards
Gwendolyn Sue (Stout) Edwards, 82, was born July 14, 1940, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Arthur Irvin Stout and Vera Izyal (McElroy) Stout. Sue passed away on August 13, 2022 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Sue attended high school in Frederick, Oklahoma.
Sue was married to Jerry Lee Edwards on August 1, 1957 in Vernon, Texas. She spent most of her life in Allen where she was active in the Chamber of Commerce and at Allen Schools. Sue opened and ran the business “TJ’S Flower Patch” and helped with many civic events. She was an active member of the Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for many years. Sue was also a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed sharing her love of the outdoors with her scouts. She enjoyed singing, working with flowers, bird watching, and meeting new people. She once shared that her favorite hobby was “people.” Sue never met a stranger and could spend hours visiting with others. Her favorite saying had to be “one more thing.”
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Edwards; her parents, Arthur and Izyal Stout; her sister, Margie Stout; and her brothers, Roy Stout, Ronnie Stout, Dean Stout, and Dutch Stout.
She is survived by her sisters Kay (Stout) Rogers of Grove, Oklahoma and Jan (Lewis) Stout of Lubbock, Texas; her children, Tacy Marlene (Edwards) Olivo and husband, Terry, of Allen, Tanya Kaye (Edwards) Smith and husband, Dennis of Macomb, Tonda Suzette (Edwards) Stout and husband, Tim of Springdale, Arkansas, and Jerry Blake Trevor Edwards of Allen; her grandchildren, Kala Olivo Sharp, Lana Olivo Beasley, Alisha Smith Howard, David Smith, Jeremy Edwards, and Daniel Smith; her great- grandchildren, Brayden Edwards, Lexani Edwards, Grace Beasley, Jae Sharp, Bentley Beasley, Sam Sharp, Avery Howard, Benjamin Howard, Maxwell Beasley, Rachael Stout and David Stout; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 19th, at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20th, at Allen Cemetery under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home where Tommy Azlin will officiate.
