Service held for Mike Hightower

Michael Gerald Hightower passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2023 at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 73.

Mike was born March 27, 1950 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Gerald B. Hightower and Elaine Eleanor (Edgin) Hightower. Mike graduated from Palm Springs High School, California in 1968. After graduating high school, he joined his father as Hightower & Son, working together as painting contractors for many years, until his father retired and then he ran the business himself.

Mike moved back to Oklahoma 15 years ago to oversee his mother’s care. Here he met and married Wanda (Carter) Clemens on February 14, 2017 in Atwood. They made their home in Holdenville. Michael was a proud sponsor of the Little League Baseball teams. Mike enjoyed antique cars, motorcycles and boats.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Elaine Hightower.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Hightower of the home; son Brian Hightower and wife Christina of Las Vegas; grandchildren Corryn Hightower of Las Vegas, Caitlyn Hightower of Las Vegas, and Christian Hightower of Las Vegas; siblings Tess Hightower of LaQuinta, California and Cynthia Schmale and husband Ken of Palm Desert, California. Mike is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life service was Saturday, July 29th, at Atwood Church of the Nazarene, 2096 HW-48, Atwood, Oklahoma, with Brother Earl Scroggins officiating.
