Rites held for Paul Lucas

Johnson Paul Lucas passed away at his home in Eufaula, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the age of 74 years. Paul was the son of Johnson and Minnie Lucas, born on October 11, 1949, in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Stella Arlene Lucas, who passed away in 2019; his father and mother, Johnson and Minnie Lucas; his son, Paul David Lucas; his grandson-in-law, Jason Gerard; brothers Edmond Samis, Fleming ‘Samis’ Sims, and Alex Baker; sisters: Pearl Irene Lucas, Bessie Whisenhunt, and Katherine ‘Jimmy’ Baker.

He is survived by his sister, Lorelei Nail aka Bonnie, of Boswell, Oklahoma; granddaughters Heather Gerard of Calvin, and Ashley Lucas of Wewoka; grandson Brian Paul Larry Lucas of Wewoka; great- grandchildren Aliese Gerard and Reiley Gerard, both of Calvin, Brian Knight of Oklahoma City, and Brayden Choate of Wewoka; bonus daughters Glenda McCully of Piedmont and Jennifer Smith of Norman; bonus son James Glen McCully of Oklahoma City; bonus grandchildren Matthew McCully, Zane Cummings and Zachery Smith, all of Norman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He will be greatly missed, but he left memories with us all to cherish forever. Paul didn’t speak much on faith but his faith and trust with God was not only felt but seen to those that knew him. Although his life here on earth is done, his journey in Heaven has just begun as he is reunited with his family and love of his life Stella Arlene.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 12:00 noon at the Lucas Family Cemetery in Wewoka.

Viewing at the funeral home will be Thursday, October 3rd, 11:00am till 5:00pm, and Friday, October 4th, 10:00am till 8:00pm.
