Pontotoc County Polling Place Changes

Due to damage to the Francis Town Hall, the polling place in Francis has moved to the Francis First Baptist Church, 201 S Meadors Ave.

The Allen Elementary School will be holding the annual Meet & Greet on Tuesday evening, August 16th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is a time for students to bring their school supplies, learn the location of their classroom, and meet their new teacher. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 18th.

Walden Named Outstanding Ag Teacher in 7 State District

Jonathan Walden, the Allen FFA instructor, was recently named the Region 2 winner of the Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher award. This honor is given by the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE). Walden was chosen as Oklahoma’s Outstanding Ag Teacher in April, pitting his application against those of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, and Colorado.

Allen Softball Wins Opener over Wewoka

After a rainout at Holdenville on Monday the 2022 Allen Fastpitch team opened their season with a 12-0 romp over Wewoka on Tuesday. The Lady Mustangs had a busy pre-season of 5 games of those 5 games they won 3 and were 2 losses were one run decisions.
