Sue Maxwell Passes Away

Betty “Sue” Maxwell Chapman went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2024. She was born in Dustin, Oklahoma on March 17, 1932 to LeeRoy and Nellie (Paulson) Maxwell. She married Amos Chapman on September 29, 1950 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 1990.

She and Amos owned and operated Chapman Oil Company for many years. She loved cooking, working in the yard, and playing the piano. She faithfully served at First Baptist, Calvin for over 75 years as church pianist.

She is survived by her son, John Chapman; daughter, Terri Haynie; son-in-law Richard Haynie; and grandsons Ryan Haynie and his wife, Jaclyn, and Brett Haynie. She adored her great- grandchildren, Elizabeth Haynie, Caroline Haynie, and Ben Haynie.

Funeral service was 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17th, at the Calvin Cemetery Chapel.
