Burn Ban Set By Commissioners

A burn ban was set in place for all of Pontotoc County during the regular Monday morning County Commissioners’ meeting. The ban is scheduled to run until November 11th but the Commissioners may rescind or revise the ban during their next regular meeting. The ban could also be extended for another 14-days. Pontotoc County Emergency Management Director Chad Letellier said the area is in a severe drought, with Ada going 35 consecutive days with less than one/tenth- of-an-inch of rain and 57 consecutive days with less than a quarter of- an-inch of rain.

ZOMBIES ARE COMING

The fun begins in front of the old Allen gym with the annual Zombie Run on Saturday, October 26th This activity, open to all ages, will begins at 5:30 pm but come early for registration. Volunteers will be on hand to offer makeup and masks. Even if you don’t want to run or be a zombie, we really need your help transporting Zombies to their location and hanging around the course to help watch for traffic and keep everyone safe. There will be T-shirts for the first come-first served.
