Basketball Area Tournament

The Allen men will face Velma Alma on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the regional tournament at 2:30. A win will bring them back Friday afternoon. Lady Mustangs Roll over Clayton - Face Weleetka Friday

The 93-15 victory secured the Lady Mustangs 23 district title, according to Allen sports historian Steven Bullard. The Allen/Clayton game was virtually over within minutes of the opening tip with Allen outscoring their opponent 40-0 in the first quarter. The Allen girls sank 17 three pointers in a rout , which is more than Clayton had total points (15) All five Allen starters reached double figures in a balanced offensive attack.

Mustang Men Defeat Keota Look to Weleetka Friday

The Allen men brought home their 30th district championship home after an 81-44 win over Keota on our home floor Saturday. The Mustangs were very efficient on the offensive side of the game hitting 70% of the 2 point field goals, 35% from three-point land and a perfect 4 for 4 at the charity stripe. Allen also held a huge advantage on the glass pulling down 33 rebounds and had 26 assists! The difference in the game may have been the Mustangs dominance in the paint outscoring Keota 50-10 from close range. “We had a pretty good game, we found the open man and he connected,” said Coach Greg Mills.
