“People” sometimes ask me to write more about Allen’s olden history. There were no Allen newspapers in 1834 but according to a Historical Marker about 3.6 miles west of Allen on State HWY 1 there was something going on here. A large group of Osage Indians were camped out in those flats.

Allen Business show tax gains

The May distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from March business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from March 16 th to 31 st and estimated sales from April 1 st to April 15 th .

Voter Registration Deadline is June 5

Friday, June 5 , is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the June 30 Primary, the Town of Roff Special, and the Tupelo Board of Education Elections. Persons who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and are at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.
